Soul Machines - Explainer Video
In the winter of 2025, Soul Machines, an AI assistant company, invited me to create a video that blends tutorial and marketing elements.
Their platform allows businesses to design custom AI assistants as 3D characters for internal help desks. These digital avatars can be trained on company-specific knowledge bases, offering employees a more personalized support experience. The video explores key features and outlines the process of creating and launching a new digital assistant.
Designing the Visuals
Soul Machines has a detailed FAQ and support section and previously offered a step-by-step video tutorial. They wanted a new video that encourages users to explore and experiment with the platform’s features. I wrote the script around a mock company, pkThreads, to create a relatable scenario and simple narrative. The visuals abstracted the UI to help viewers follow along while encouraging hands-on exploration. The digital person, “Atlas,” represents an activewear startup, and along with the narrator, “Isobel,” was art directed to showcase the app’s capabilities and add personality.
The Outcome
This video is launched on the support section and will also be heavily promoted on social media. It accomplished the goals of the marketing and development team and they will use the aessthetic I created in this video to build out the rest of their tutorial series.
